The following ramp closures associated with work along Interstate 540 in Fort Smith are scheduled for the early morning hours of December 7.

ON and OFF RAMPS— EXIT 8 (Hwy 22 Interchange)

·         Beginning at midnight Friday night and through the early morning hours of Saturday, December 7, the eastbound I-540 off-ramp (Exit 8) to Hwy 22 (Rogers Avenue) and the westbound I-540 on-ramp from Hwy 22 (Rogers Avenue) will be closed.  The ramps will be reopened by 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.  These closures are necessary to allow the contractor to perform joint rehabilitation work on the ramp pavement.  Motorists who regularly use the affected ramps during the time period mentioned are urged to plan on using alternate routes.

Adjustment of the time and date of the ramp closures may be required due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
