BRIDGE INSPECTION SCHEDULED FOR INTERSTATE 440 BRIDGE

LITTLE ROCK (5-23)

An inspection of the Interstate 440 Bridge in central Arkansas will necessitate lane closures next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials.

Inspection crews working on the bridge will require the following lane closures, weather permitting:

         May 28-June 12, 2003

9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.            Crews will be working Monday through Thursday beginning May 28.  Work will begin at the South Terminal Interchange and continue eastbound to the airport.  Once the eastbound direction is complete, crews will move to the westbound lanes, beginning at the airport, and work back to the South Terminal Interchange.  The outside lane will be closed where crews are working.

As always, motorists are urged to “Think Ahead,” “Buckle Up” and exercise caution when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
