Public Meeting to be held in Searcy

    LITTLE ROCK (6-30)  The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement meeting in Searcy to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 16, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting will be held Thursday, July 6, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Foster’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2188 Highway 16, in Searcy.

     Plans call for reconstructing Highway 16 and adding shoulders.  The work will extend from the Searcy city limits northward for one mile.      

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.
