HIGHWAY 49 AND U.S. HIGHWAY 79 March 21, 1997 -- The intersection of U.S. Highway 49 and U.S. Highway 79 east of Clarendon in Monroe County will be converted to a four-way stop beginning on Monday, March 24. The intersection is being converted after studies revealed a need for modification. Crews from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will add stop signs to U.S. Highway 79.
