AHTD to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Arkansas Scenic Byway


November 24, 1997 -- The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) and the Talimena Scenic Drive Interpretive Association will host a public hearing on Tuesday, December 16, beginning at 6:30 P.M., according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. The meeting will be held at Mary Bayles Ingles Hall at 1100 Bush Street on the Rich Mountain Community College Campus in Mena.

The public hearing is being held for the purpose of permitting all interested persons, agencies, and organizations the opportunity to express their views regarding the proposed designation of Highway 88, from its intersection with Highway 71 in Mena to the Oklahoma line, as an Arkansas Scenic Byway.

Individuals interested in this proposal are encouraged to attend this meeting and to provide written or oral comments. All interested persons will be heard at the public hearing.
