Highway 64 Repaving to Cause Lane Closure

May 7, 1998 -- Maintenance crews from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be repaving a portion of Highway 64 in Conway beginning Monday, May 11, according to Dan Flowers, AHTD Director.

The overlay project will necessitate closing portions of the highway between Washington Avenue and the intersection of Highway 64 and 65. Crews will begin overlaying the roadway at 8:30 a.m. and continue each day until 4:00 p.m. The project should be finished by Wednesday, May 13, weather permitting.

When complete, the roadway will be striped with five lanes including a continuous left turn lane.

Motorists should use alternate routes or allow extra time during the project period.
