Notice to MediaInterstate 40 pavement patching to cause lane closureJune 25, 1998 A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be patching a portion of I-40 at the Burns Park on-ramp beginning Friday, June 26, according to Dan Flowers, AHTD Director. The paving project will necessitate closing the right lane of the eastbound lanes and a portion of the on-ramp at Burns Park beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The on-ramp will remain open at all times, but approximately the last 200 feet of the acceleration lane will be closed to accommodate the pavement patching. Both the eastbound lane and on-ramp will be reopened on Sunday, June 28 at 1:00 p.m. Jett Concrete, Inc. of Texarkana, Arkansas was awarded a $680,279.84 contract for concrete repairs to I-30, I-40 and Highway 67 in Central Arkansas. Motorists should use alternate routes or allow extra time during the repair period.
