Interstate 30 Repaving to Cause Lane Closure

LITTLE ROCK (9-18) – A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be repaving a portion of I-30 between Benton and Bryant beginning Monday, September 21, according to Dan Flowers, AHTD Director.

The resurfacing project will necessitate intermittent lane closures in both directions for approximately two months. The closings will take place only during off-peak hours. Work will be allowed from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours on weekends.

The project will resurface a 12.02-mile section of the Interstate from Highway 70 west of Benton to the Bryant city limits. Vance Brothers, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri was awarded a $1,331,162.08 contract for the work. The project is expected to be complete by November 20, 1998.

Motorists should use alternate routes or allow extra travel time during periods of lane closures.
