Notice to MediaPortion of I-30 Frontage Roads to be Closed Periodically for ConstructionLITTLE ROCK (5-14) -- The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will periodically close a portion of the frontage roads on I-30 at Chicot Road in southwest Little Rock, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. The road closures are necessary due to the Chicot Road/I-30 crossover project. A contractor for the AHTD will be hanging steel beams over the south frontage road and will periodically close the frontage road for up to 15 minutes. The periodic closures on the south frontage road will begin Monday, May 17 at 10:00 p.m., weather permitting. The contractor will complete this portion of the project by 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. On Thursday, May 20 the contractor will move to the north frontage roads where similar closures will take place beginning at 10:00 p.m. and continuing through 5:00 a.m. Friday morning. Thomco, Inc. of North Little Rock, Arkansas was awarded a $2,129,137.08 contract for the work. The project is expected to be complete by Summer 2000. #### For Further Information Contact:
