Lanes on I-30 to be Closed for Construction

LITTLE ROCK (8-4) – A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will close a portion of I-30 at Raymar Road in Saline County on Saturday, August 7 and Sunday, August 8, 1999, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

The lane closures are necessary due to the Raymar Road/I-30 crossover project. The contractor will be removing safety platforms over the Interstate and will close the inside east and westbound lanes beginning at 5:00 a.m. Saturday and continuing until 12 noon, weather permitting. Beginning at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 8, the contractor will then close the outside east and westbound lanes until 1:00 p.m. One lane of traffic in each direction will always be open during the removal of the platforms.

Motorists may want to use alternative routes or allow extra time during the lane closure period.
