Notice to MediaHighway Work Scheduled on Highway 67/167 LITTLE ROCK (11-2) - A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will be working on a new overpass on Highway 67/167 just south of Jacksonville next week. The work will take place at night on Monday, November 5, Wednesday, November 7 and Thursday, November 8, 2001, weather permitting, according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers. This
project involves the construction of the Northbelt Freeway Interchange with
Highway 67/167.
The construction will consist of hanging steel girders across Highway
67/167 as part of constructing an overpass, and it will be necessary to
temporarily close lanes on Highway 67/167.
The work is being done during off-peak hours to minimize inconvenience to
motorists. Temporary
lane closures will be required on the following dates and times: Monday,
November 5,
Wednesday, November 7, and Thursday, November 8 Beginning
at 10:00 p.m. and continuing until 6:00 a.m. in the morning each day, both
southbound lanes of Highway 67/167 will be closed in 15-minute intervals to hang
girders across the highway. Motorists
may want to use an alternate route or allow extra travel time during the
closure. As
always, motorists are urged to “Think Ahead”, “Buckle-up” and exercise
caution when approaching and traveling through work zones.
